INSURANCE CLAIMS & PROCESS
9 STEPS IN THE INSURANCE CLAIM PROCESS
GET A ROOF INSPECTION FROM A REPUTABLE AND LOCAL ROOFING COMPANY
Before contacting your insurance company, have a free, no-obligation roof inspection done to determine if there is any damage. This way, you can avoid having a claim counted against you if your roof is found to be undamaged.
MAKE A CLAIM WITH YOUR INSURANCE IF DAMAGE IS FOUND
After inspection and with the knowledge in your hands you can file a claim on your homeowner’s insurance. They will likely ask you if your roof has already been inspected and if you’ve chosen a contractor. You can work with any roofing contractor you choose.
SCHEDULE A ROOF INSPECTION WITH YOUR INSURANCE AND ROOFER
When they inspect the roof together, they are more likely to be on the same page about what will be covered by insurance. This will save you a lot of back and forth phone calls. And you will be able to get the project started more quickly.
INSURANCE CLAIM IS FILED AND WE EVALUATE YOUR CLAIM
Once the claim is approved, we will need to evaluate what was bought under insurance. Sometimes the adjusters miss items that should be on your claim. If they did we would negotiate on your behalf with the insurance provider until we have an agreed-upon scope of work.
GO OVER YOUR INSURANCE CLAIM, PICK MATERIALS AND SCHEDULE REPAIRS
After negotiations, we will have your sales rep meet with you to go over the scope of work, the cost of repairs, pick out materials, choose colors, etc. Once everything is selected we will schedule the repairs.
WHAT TO EXPECT DURING THE REPAIR PROCESS
We will have a sales rep present during all of the repairs. They will take photo documentation throughout the repair process. This is for warranty and insurance purposes down the road.
REPAIRS ARE COMPLETED & WE FILE FOR RELEASE OF FUNDS
Once completed, we will file a COC (Certificate of Completion) to your insurance provider. This included a final invoice and photos for their documentation.
RELEASE OF DEPRECIATION & FINAL PAYMENT
Once they receive the COC, they will release the withheld depreciation which typically takes 5-7 days to receive. We do not require the final payment until the insurance has released these funds to you. Once received, we will invoice for the final payment of our contract together.
